What a wonderful place to stay during our trip! I highly recommend an apartment rental over a hotel. The apartment is in an excellent location for sightseeing with nearby metro, food markets, and restaurants. The size is definitely small and I wouldn't recommend it for more than two adults with children. The kitchen was more than adequate for our cooking needs and allowed us to have breakfast in and cook a few dinners. It is very handy to have for snacks and such for the kids. The bathroom took getting used to-again small-but worked for us. It was also handy to have a washing machine. The apt. was fully equipped for all our needs. It was also VERY quiet and peaceful for a good nights sleep. I worried that we were often too loud having a teen and a rambunctious boy! The building is old and may at first appear a bit shabby but, really, it is quaint, quiet, and safe. There isn't a view to speak of but, that made it quiet and safe to sleep with the windows open. Regine is very friendly and will do her best to communicate with you if you don't speak French. All and all, I would say we had a great stay and would recommend this apartment. Also, Monique and Nicolas were a delight to do business with. We found the majority of Parisians to be friendly and helpful, often taking the time to ask us if we needed assistance (we were lost quite a bit). I can't wait to return!!! PS-it's up a few flights of stairs, as is most everything in Paris, but it's good for the thighs.  Rating: 5/5  "Just the place to retreat to after a busy day" Date of visit: January 2009 "My partner, I and our 8 month old son stayed in this apartment in January 2009.  We had a fantastic time and much of this was as a result of staying in such an excellent place.  It is located in the centre of Paris and various attractions are within very short walking distance.  If you want to wander further afield then there are excellent transport links in close proximity.  On the doorstep are various restaurants, boulangeries and shops.  All that you would ever need.  On our first day we obviously didnt have our eyes open and managed to walk by them all without seeing them - and then wondered where the shops were!!  I don't understand how we managed to miss them.  They start directly infront of the apartment. We were amazed at how incredibly quiet the apartment was even with its central location.  Our son certainly had no noises waking him up at any point.  The apartment is exactly how it is described by the owners and was a brilliant size for our family to relax in.  Our son even enjoyed his first ever shower and loved it!! It was impeccably clean and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.  Also there was plenty of floor space in the living area for our son to play in (always important when tiring out a little boy).  I'm sure I've forgotten what other things I should mention about this apartment but suffice it to say, we think we couldn't have found anywhere better to stay. I am, although a frequent visitor to France, a first time visitor to Paris.  My partner had never been to France at all before.  We both loved it, had an absolutely fantastic time and didnt want to leave.  We wouldnt hesitate to return not just to Paris but also we wish to stay in the apartment again. The property was well maintained and very clean. The interior is designed a nice and super clever way. Personally i liked the fact that the house was decorated a bit with the upcoming festive season. Initially we planned to arrive at the appartment at 13.00 however we arrived earlier. It was no problem to go up to the appartment (1st floor). We dropped our bags and went straight on a shopping spree to the nearby Bazar Hotel de Ville (BHV). Many attractions are a walking distance away such as the Louvre, Place de Vendome, many nice tinny shops such as a nice bakery and a greengrocer. The fact that there was information on restaurant and other tourist information books was seen as an additional bonus as well for us. I definately would like to recommend this place to other people in a fact i have already done so. We walked from here to Louvre, Notre Dame, Eiffel tower, shopping (forum des halles etc), Musee d'Orsay, Pont Neuf, etc. The metro is few minutes walk and very convenient Also next door are several creperies, cafes, patisseries, restaurants, chocolate shops, super markets, fresh fruit and vegetables etc. Regine (the guardiane) can help book taxi for return journey to the airport. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils/cutlery and basic requirements like salît/oil/spices etc. Bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is tiny, but overall we loved the apartment. Also for Vegetarians, there is a vegetarian restaurant close by with very interesting food (La Victoire Suprême du Coeur, 1st, 41 rue des Bourdonnais, tel# 01 40 41 93 95).  Rating: 5/5 - "Very Central Location" - cruzbee - New York NY Date Submitted: November 25, 2008  Date of Stay: November 2008 Lovely place. Perfect location. I was in Paris for one week for business and this was the first time I rented an apartment. I was able to walk to all my meetings in the 1st, the 3rd and the 4th arrondisements, all within a 15 minute walking distance. Regine, the Guardienne, was tremendously kind and helpful. The proximity to Chatelet/Les Halles is good, providing many options for shopping and transportation. Mdme, Regina and her husband were hospitable and she was willing to help(the tv cable is quite different than US cable) and trés sympathique. The bath is typically parisienne with all necessary elements. Perhaps our favorite item was the very nice and comfortable bed, which allowed us to rest well after hours of museums and street browsing and shopping. The kitchen has most anything one could wish for to cook with and even some spices and oils which were useful. The marché just around the corner was useful for basic grocery needs and there were 3 patisseries on the street of the apartment as well as a lovely fruit stand where the merchant was always slicing us 'une petit gouter' of his delicious fruite du jour! We have had holidays in Paris for the last several years in the fall and will stay here again in the future. It was perfect! We quickly became part of the neighborhood and regulars at the bakery just down the street. We spent our mornings in the flat having coffee and pastry while we discussed our day. Everything was within walking distance, everything! The Louvre is 2 blocks away! The Seine River is just beyond the Louvre. Walk to the flower market, Notre Dame, Amorino Gelati on Ile St-Louis (the best gelato you will ever have!), the Arc de Triomphe (we were there for VE Day celebration!), the Eiffel Tower (a sunset party every night!!!!). There were not enough hours in the day. And when we did finally return to our flat, everything we could possibly need was there (except for internet connection directions in english). The flat was exactly as it appeared on the web site and was very well equipped. I was afraid that it would be a bit small but it was perfect for 2 adults. I could not imagine more than that comfortably. We felt very safe and secure. Our hosts were most gracious and informative. I can't wait to return. Paris is a part of my soul. I can not thank Monique and Nicolas enough for their help and hospitality. It was an easy walk to most places we wanted to go (Louve, Notre Dame) and the Chatelet metro/RER stop was very close and convenient to get to and from the CDG Airport. The apartment is also well equiped with all the amenities you would need (terrific kitchen, satellite tv, hair dryer, dishwasher, washing machine, etc). There is a terrific bakery down the street with wonderful pastries and a small grocery store across the street. The bed is also very comfortable and the apartment is very quiet at night. I recommend this appartment. Just a couple of small negatives. The bathroom is very small but functional. This apartment is probably best suited for just two people. There was a sewer smell coming from the shower drain but if we kept it covered when not in use, it was not at all a problem. Also, the building "Guardian" spoke almost no english and we speak almost no french so this was a challenge. I would still recommend this apartment. It is clean, modern, quiet, and in a great location. This apartment is very tough to beat for the price. If you don't speak french don't worry. If we can do it so can you! There are many small shops on the street where you can buy your morning croissants, cheese and fruit. The apartment is on the second floor of an older building and does not have a view but it is renovated and very clean. As you would expect for Paris, the apartment is smaller but comfortable. We are happy that the weather kept us in as much as it did; otherwise we would feel guilty for not seeing more of Paris. The apartment has everything needed for total comfort. Bathroom is tiny; kitchen is well-equipped; living-dining room comfortably furnished although to put more than 2 people in the place would be too crowded. Shops are within a few meters, including a wonderful boulangerie. Located in an old building in the 1st arrondissement, this apartment is totally modern and stylish. The "guardian" speaks only French, but her 12-year old daughter is learning English. We enjoyed both of them. My husband thinks everyone should speak English so his rating is a little lower than mine. But I ignore his prejudices and pronounce this property as a good buy if it stays under 1000 euros per week.
